Position Summary:

The Student Recruiter for the Larkin University College of Pharmacy plays a critical role in shaping the future of the program by identifying, engaging, and enrolling top-tier students. This position not only focuses on meeting annual recruitment goals but also establishes a sustainable pipeline of prospective students for future cohorts. The recruiter will represent a small, private university in Florida known for its close-knit academic community, personalized approach to education, and commitment to preparing compassionate, innovative healthcare professionals. Through strategic outreach, relationship-building, and collaboration with internal and external partners, the recruiter will enhance the visibility of the College of Pharmacy locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Recruitment and Outreach

  • Actively represent the university at high schools, community colleges, college fairs, health science expos, and other recruitment venues to attract prospective students.
  • Conduct engaging presentations and information sessions (in-person and virtual) to highlight the College of Pharmacy’s programs, faculty expertise, research opportunities, and student support services.
  • Build and maintain meaningful connections with prospective students, their families, school counselors, alumni, and community organizations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective pharmacy students, providing personalized support and guidance throughout the admissions process.

 

Pipeline Development

  • Create and implement strategic initiatives to identify and nurture a pipeline of future pharmacy students, starting from middle and high school engagement to pre-pharmacy undergraduate pathways.
  • Partner with science educators, career advisors, pre-health clubs, and pharmacy organizations to create early exposure opportunities for students interested in pharmacy careers.
  • Develop community partnerships, mentoring programs, and outreach events to inspire interest in pharmacy education and strengthen long-term recruitment efforts.

 

Event Planning and Execution

  • Plan and coordinate on-campus and virtual recruitment events, including open houses, information sessions, preview days, and campus tours.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and current students to create dynamic and memorable experiences for prospective students and their families.
  • Represent the College of Pharmacy at professional and community events to elevate program visibility.

 

Strategic Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Admissions to develop and execute data-driven recruitment strategies aligned with institutional goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to design compelling recruitment materials, social media campaigns, and digital content to engage prospective students.
  • Provide market feedback and trend analysis to inform program promotion strategies.

 

Administrative and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, prospective student engagement, and application progress in CRM and student information systems.
  • Monitor key performance metrics to track progress toward enrollment targets and pipeline development initiatives.
  • Assist with admissions-related administrative tasks, including reviewing applications and coordinating communications with prospective students.

Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; preference for candidates with degrees in education, communications, marketing, or a related field.
    • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in college admissions, student recruitment, sales, marketing, or related fields. Experience in pharmacy, health sciences, or healthcare recruitment is a plus.
    • Skills:
      • Exceptional interpersonal and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
      • Strong written communication and storytelling abilities to articulate the College’s unique value.
      • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM tools such as Anthology preferred.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet recruitment needs.
      • A high level of professionalism, cultural competency, and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in higher education.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in education, higher education administration, healthcare, or a related field.
    • Prior experience recruiting for health sciences or professional programs (pharmacy, nursing, medicine, etc.).
    • Knowledge of trends in pharmacy education and workforce needs.
    • Experience in digital marketing, social media campaigns, and virtual recruitment strategies.
    • Fluency in Spanish or another language commonly spoken in Florida’s diverse communities.
    • Experience using advanced CRM and data analytics tools for student recruitment.
    • Demonstrated success building partnerships with schools, community organizations, or healthcare networks.
    • Strong presentation design skills and familiarity with video/virtual event tools.
