Job Title: Human Resources (HR) Coordinator

Reports to: Associate Vice president of Operations & HR

Location: Larkin University – Miami campus

Position Summary:

The HR Coordinator will support the Associate VP of Operations & HR in managing day-to-day human resources functions across the university. This role is ideal for a proactive and discreet HR professional who values structure, confidentiality, and consistency.

The position is designed for growth: while initially focused on operational HR tasks, the HR Coordinator will gain increasing responsibility and evolve into an HR Generalist role as the university expands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment efforts, job postings, applicant tracking, and onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and files.
  • Support benefits administration, leave management, and employee status changes.
  • Coordinate training sessions, employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Generate HR-related reports and support audits as needed.
  • Assist with performance management processes and employee relations matters.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve HR processes and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local sate and federal laws and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of HR experience (HR coordinator, HR assistant HR generalist preferred).
  • Familiarity with HR laws, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Higher education experience is a plus but not required.
